CV Spotlight: Gen’s KoF99-2k2 TACVs

Produced by Gen with help from Sensui, KZR, Harry, and Vice Vecta, this sixteen minute long tool-assisted combo video covers KoF94 and the entire King of Fighters Nests arc: KoF99, KoF2k, KoF2k1, and KoF2k2. Almost every character makes an appearance.

Gen CMV’s by Withering Surface Entertainment | Part 2

Once SNK introduced strikers (aka assists) in King of Fighters ’99, the series became noticeably glitchier. As a result, later KoF titles became similar to Capcom’s Marvel series in the sense that it’s very difficult to follow what’s going on inside combo videos unless you’ve been keeping up with major bug discoveries. Thankfully, this video provides explanations via subtitles at confusing points and even contains an entire segment of glitch setups starting at 10:10.

Some of the more stylish combos include the KoF2k2 Leona combo at 0:37, the Vanessa combo at 1:20, the Yuri combo at 4:00, and the Kim combo at 7:15. If you want a local copy, a downloadable version can be obtained from the newly relaunched Cyberfanatix website.

It’s a cool vid, I’m still in middle of watching it, but there’s just something I wanna say about the glitch segment, where a lot of characters get to infinitely hit Ramon with the same normal without pushback.
There’s a lot of vids that show glitches without showing the setup. Is it because these setups are so boring, or do they wanna keep them a secret or something?

Oh ok, they do show some setups, but still. It’s kinda like those SF2 vids, where a character is suddenly in the corner, hovering above the floor. They could have shown it once, so you kinda know what you’re looking at.

@Smileymike101 of course it does, Dan is a parody of Ryo. SSf4 isn’t the first game dan has had a haoh gadouken type move.

Bob Sagat: Maybe they don’t want to break flow by showing a slow-paced setup? I don’t know, i’m not a big fan of hiding setups either, but sometimes i can see why they’d skip it. Though it’s always nice when they find a way to show it at least once.

I tried to play KoF 2k2 online but i got whooped badly by what seemed to be a 90% Hispanic online community. I wish that CvS2 was backwards compatible for the 360 but oh well!!!
Good video tho Kim and Clark FTW!

BTW i found a way to Represent the site on MW2: there is a title named “Sonic Boom” and one named “Maj.” i know its an abbreviation for major but NOT IF YOU’RE A FAN OF THIS SITE!

Yeah, KoF is serious business. I think KoF2k2 is one of the solid competitive ones, along with KoF98. It’s not exactly a new game either, so those players have been at it for a while.
