Weekly Screenshot: The Forge of Vulcan

Whoever comes up with the best title gets to pick the next SF4 Biweekly TACV character! As always, the rules are one entry per person and i’ll choose my favorite on Monday.

cybotsu-gaits-helion-01

CB Jin’s Gaits recovers from the first uppercut of his Kuuzen Zetsugo super as Gawaine’s Helion’s j.LA descends from behind. Gaits’ uppercut specials face forward while active, then spin around during recovery. His Cyber EX move actually had to be performed facing left so he’d face right with his back turned.

Helion is probably my favorite character design in the game, but i couldn’t quite find a way to make him look cool in screenshot form. He stays in mech guise while grounded but transforms seamlessly into helicopter mode whenever he becomes airborne. Being a secret boss character, he doesn’t have a whole lot of normal moves.

Dang, this was a tough choice. Robot Whackamole, Dragonpunch vs Helicopter kick, Get to da choppa, and Jet pack Jacked were all awesome. I’m a sucker for mythological references so that’s gonna have to be the tiebreaker cuz otherwise i can’t decide.

Hope: Congratulations, you get to pick the featured character for the next SF4 TACV. Choose anyone you like except Guile, Ryu, Zangief, El Fuerte, Ken, Dhalsim, Rufus, Viper, and Cammy. In terms of sheer potential, Rose seems the most intriguing right now, and Seth’s probably way up there too. But, as always, i’m down to try anyone. Please post your decision within 48 hours so i can get started as soon as possible.

Wow, awesome! Sorry for the late answer, but I checked this entry Monday evening (GMT+1) and there weren’t any results. And as luck would have it, I had my last final exam (don’t know the English word) at my university yesterday, so I got home pretty late and “tired”.

Regarding the next character, I’ll have to go with Abel.

Cool, i’m down with Abel. There’s one or two things i’d been meaning to try with him for a long time so i’ll finally get to try them now. And i’m sure i can find a couple of extra stylish combos as well. Shouldn’t be a problem.

Oh, these screenshots are all from the CPS2 arcade version. That’s why there’s no Zero Akuma or hidden pilots.
