CV Spotlight: Keiko’s SFA2 Ryu Custom Combos

Things finally seem to’ve gone back to normal after last month’s combo video frenzy. Now’s a good time to revisit Keiko‘s exceptional SFA2 Custom Combo guide series. He’s kept releasing them on a regular basis since October, making his way through seventeen characters already.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 – Ryu Custom Combos

Every episode covers a wide range of practical SFA2 and SFZ2A CCs for every situation, in addition to flashy combos to impress technical-minded viewers. Ryu’s installment was one of my favorites, especially the combos at 0:55 and 1:00. Those hopkick cancels were awesome too, for instance at 1:31. And of course, using Evil Ryu’s teleport to set up a backwards attack at 2:16 is always cool.

He’s also put together a couple of quick tutorials illustrating various obscure yet versatile glitches involving Dhalsim’s recovery options.

Take a look and give them a try.

    I’ve been watching these lately and trying to copy them. The infinite CC thing is fun to mess around with =] (it’s new to me, never got seriously into SFA2). Great series, and very well presented and explained on his website.

    @CPS2:
    I’m very glad you can understand all the explanations on my Blog, you know, i’m not a native speaker and sometimes writing an article becomes a challenge for me.
    Expect more glitches videos on the future, SFA2 has never been a popular statement on the sf series, and well, there are a lot of very interesting stuffs to learn about it.
    Peace.!

    yet SFA2 is my favorite alpha series game…not sure why, maybe just because of the ridiculously fast CCs and character choices. great videos, and great blog.

    I wish you site had been around before I did my sfz2a tas even if a lot of the glitches where fixed in z2a and the CC got a major nerf

    Yeah Keiko I noticed you speak Spanish very well – so you’re trilingual, eh? That’s quite a feat, and knowing Spanish, Japanese, and English – that’s like the three giants of combo making or just fighting games in general.

    Man this is excellent stuff o.o Great job man! Incidentally I didn’t know SFA2 had more than one alternate color for characters, I always thought it was the default and a kick button. How do you get other colors in SFA2?

    @Jiggeh

    This site might be really helpful! Once SSFIV is out I plan on making a Color Guide in GameFAQs that goes into a bit of detail about the color choices and the history behind them. It’s nice that Capcom has kept the original eight with their Champion Edition and/or Hyper Fighting colors for so long.

    @Jiggeh:
    nice color database!
    @onreload:
