SSF4 Week-Three Combos: Day Fifteen

Both of last episode’s Dee Jay combos were stepping stones to the polished versions featured in this one. He can probably add a few more hits, but they won’t come easy. In the meantime, people have been asking for Guy combos so i gave him a shot. He has several stylish links and worthwhile chains, but nothing extraordinary. I’ll keep looking for a little while longer.

Notes: Guy’s EX Hozanto has a juggle potential of one, as does the first attack of his Bushin Goraisenpujin ultra. The first hit of Dudley’s Ducking Upper does not increment the juggle counter. It preserves existing juggle states, much like the second hit of Ken’s HP Shoryuken. Gouken, Dan, El Fuerte, Cody, and Dudley appear to be the best dummy candidates for Air Slasher combos because Dee Jay can land multiple close s.LK reps against them. Dudley is the only one of that group whose hit stun hitbox doesn’t dodge Dee Jay’s far s.LP at long range.

Some of these combos are tool-assisted, recorded with two ASCII PAD V Pro programmable controllers. Absolutely no cheats, hacks, or game-altering devices were used in the making of.

Catching up! I’m making decent progress though; running out of new characters at the right pace.

Good stuff. Any reason for the whiffed LK before the Ultra in Dee Jay’s last combo?

Great stuff as always. My main is Guy so I’m glad you started picking him for the videos. Hope you find some neat new combos for him! He’s a beast.

These videos are like crack to me. I really hope you start up the Biweekly TACV’s after you’re done with this series.

Anyway, I’ll second the Guy request. This video was the first time I’ve seen some interesting Guy combos. And i want more!

Yeah, I was wondering about the Biweekly TACV’s. Are you going to continue them? If you do, will you carry on in Super with all the characters not covered yet? Will you finish the unfinished in vanilla?

Personally, I’d kinda like to see separate videos where you highlight new things with previously covered characters, but that might be too much work to squeeze in with new TACV’s. Also, I’m sure most people would want you to just keep moving forward with new characters.

After this week i’m going back to Biweekly SF4 TACVs until the whole cast is done so i can finish the DVD. At that point if the DVD is successful, i’ll work on SSF4. If not, i’m done with all of this.

Regarding SSF4 itself, i’m only exploring it because i figured people would appreciate it. Otherwise i don’t care about this early stuff. Take a look at the dates on the SF4 TACV series. I didn’t start until a full eight months after the game was released on console – fifteen months after the arcade release.

If i do come back to SSF4, it’ll be after everyone else has had their shot at it.

Man, I can’t wait till you show some Juri love. I’m trying to learn all I can and your tricks would help immensely.

MF KRINK!: No, i think all it does is increase Tiger Uppercut damage. Doesn’t imbue juggle potential or add a free juggle state or anything like that.

jamheald: Yeah, but it looks cool and i couldn’t think of much else to do with the extra meter.

oh. ive seen videos of tiger knee in the corner and juggled into uppercut but i dunno

MF KRINK!: Oh nevermind, you’re right. I was testing it wrong. Yeah it looks like Tiger Uppercut gets a juggle potential of one after Angry Scar. That’s not really enough to do anything crazy though.

Not exactly. EX Tiger Uppercut is a five-hit move with juggle potentials of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4. If you do EX FB, EX DP, you get two hits from EX FB and three hits from EX DP.

With Angry Scar active, EX Tiger Uppercut is upgraded to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. If you do EX FB, EX DP, you get two hits from EX FB and four hits from EX DP. It’s really not that big a deal.
