Weekly Screenshot: Red Ring of Death

Continuing with the Mega Man: The Power Battle screenshots, this one features one of the game’s two sub-bosses – mainly as an attempt to fill out more of the frame area.

MMPB Protoman’s fully charged air Proto Buster narrowly evades CPU-controlled Yellow Devil’s grab attempt, while Bass fires off another fully charged Bass Buster from behind. All three playable characters’ fully charged Buster shots become flashier when their health meters are down to two bars or less, but the difference is far more subdued in Megaman’s case.

Whoever comes up with the best title wins a Mayflash Max Shooter for Xbox 360. As always, the rules are one entry per person and i’ll choose my favorite on Monday.

Once again, for anyone who might be wondering about this converter, i can’t endorse it at all. I’ve opened it to test it and honestly it’s a piece of junk, albeit expensive junk. I only got suckered into buying two of them because their vague item description implied it would support all PS1/PS2 controllers. They cost me around $70 each and wouldn’t even recognize my PS1 pads.

They’re designed primarily for mouse-and-keyboard FPS games, so it might be worth a try if you’re into those. Or you could always put it on ebay and make thirty bucks for your trouble.

    “PROfound ASSness”

as in PROtoman and bASS are almost dead eventhough they have such strong attacks. :)

In Microsoft’s eyes, one red ring means hardware failure, so disconnect your hard drive and hope that helps. In Bass and Protoman’s eyes, one red ring means “I’m going to kick your ass in style.”

I really liked the RRoD reference but i’m having trouble figuring out whom to give credit. It looks that whole train of thought came from rpgking4 but then jamheald was the one who actually said it. I guess the tiebreaker will have to be the fact that jamheald already submitted an earlier unrelated caption.

rpgking4: Congratulations! Please e-mail me your address and i’ll send out your prize. (If you don’t claim it within three days, it’ll go to jamheald.)

I have a ps3 and I live in the uk, so whatever it comes down to just let rpgking4 have it, it was his idea after all, and I broke the rules.

Thanks for choosing my entry. I guess simple is better as jamheald illustrated. I can’t wait to try this adapter out.

rpgking4: Your converter is in the mail as of this afternoon, sir. I’m glad it’s going to someone who’s excited about using it. Mind posting a quick comment when you receive it?

Not a problem. I’ll do a short review on it, I’m interested to see how it handles.
