Sonic Hurricane Combo DVD Status

August 11th, 2010 Leave a comment Go to comments

With Evo2k10 wrapped up and my post-Evo responsibilities mostly taken care of, my primary goal now is completing this DVD. It’s the first thing on my mind and i’m eager to get it done.

The first order of business is finishing up the SF4 TACV series. The thirteenth installment was released last week, which leaves six characters. The next chapter should be finished this week, leaving four characters. You can monitor where the whole project stands by following the progress of those remaining episodes.

When i’ve covered the entire SF4 cast, i’ll go back and spend an extra week or two recording updated combos and extras. Then it’s on to compiling the DVD contents and menus. I’m not sure how long that process will take, so let’s allocate a month for that step.

Once the DVD ISO is finalized, i’ll announce the expected shipping date for the first batch of orders. If you’re worried about missing it, i’ll also change the banner on the right sidebar, so just keep an eye out for that.

In the meantime, if anyone is unsatisfied with how long this whole process is taking, please let me know and i’ll send you a full refund – no questions asked. Not many people preordered, so i certainly want to take care of the few who did.

I feel terrible about these delays, but there’s not much i can do except try to finish up as soon as possible without sacrificing quality. One way or another, sooner or later, it will get done.

At this point i think it might be better to hold off on preordering until the next announcement. From here on out, expect a status update every other week on Wednesdays – whether or not i’ve had time to get anything significant accomplished. Thanks to everyone for your patience.

update: Due to a combination of personal and legal reasons, the DVD had to be canceled. Please read the formal announcement for more information.

    Speaking of the banner on the right, i should probably clarify that “Gotta move units!” is a dumb inside joke.

    Every time i talked to my brother after announcing the DVD, he’d ask the same question: “How many units have you moved?”

    He kept asking even though the answer was the same most of the time. So i just thought he’d find it funny.

    You know I was wondering about that. You should mail a few to him and if he asks why, just tell him..”gotta move units.”

    but as for the DVD approaching, yay.

    onreload: Haha sounds like a plan.

    jamheald, LJGPliskin: At this point it’s probably better to wait until i make the final announcement about the DVD being ready or almost ready.

    supersonic1453: Thank you sir, i appreciate your support vis-à-vis the moving of the units.

    @Maj
    I pre-ordered around the announcement, and after your awesome showing at Evo I convinced a friend I had been nagging to order one too. We are excited to have a way to support your efforts, sir.
