CV Spotlight: Keiko’s SFA2 Sagat Custom Combos

About a month ago, Keiko started compiling comprehensive Custom Combo guides for every character in SFA2. The content ranges from practical CCs for every situation, to flashy customs which are strictly combo video material, to crazy glitches. In fact, every single episode is awesome. One of his latest features Sagat and contains quite a few interesting combos.

Street Fighter Alpha 2 – Sagat Custom Combos

Perhaps the two coolest clips are performed against Rolento and avoid knocking him down until after the CC meter expires. The first one at 0:36 consists of nothing but Ground Tiger Shots and ends with a difficult link sequence into Tiger Knee followed by Tiger Uppercut. The second one comes up at 1:25 and Sagat actually combos seven Tiger Knees without knocking down Rolento. It’s probably my favorite concept shown in the whole video.

There’s also some crazy handcuffs glitch performed against Sodom at the end of the video. Does anyone have any idea what caused it?

I really dig this production and quality, and think Alpha 2 CCs are more entertaining than A3 by a longshot, just for how frenetic they look. I have to wonder which version of A2 he’s using for that handcuffs glitch, and if he had any kind of recovery settings on for the dummy? It looks like VS. mode, but I know Sodom has like two custom ways to get up, right?

It’s an odd glitch, Sodom didn’t do one of his wake up moves he just got up normal. I don’t think any of his normals or specials make the noise sodam makes. I bet it has to do with causing a knock down at the end of the cc, in a2 knocking down at the end of an cc makes the character retain some weird juggle states.
Did you know that Sagat has a fake kick in a2? done by mashing s.mk
