Weekly Screenshot: Please Wake Mary

December 31st, 2009 Leave a comment Go to comments

The problem with taking screenshots in a game i’ve never played before is that everything looks cool at first. Well, we’ve got to start somewhere, right?

CB Jin’s Blodia cancels BIT High Blast into Planet Smasher as Mary’s Reptos performs Thunder Shaking so that both superfreezes occur simultaneously. Super moves are called Cyber EX attacks in Cyberbots – they cost full meter and they don’t have trailing shadows. The flames under their feet are special effects added by the stage, once the orbital platform begins descending into the atmosphere.

Whoever comes up with the best title gets to pick the next SF4 Biweekly TACV character! As always, the rules are one entry per person and i’ll choose my favorite on Monday.

“Express elevator to hell, goin’ down!”

Not sure why exactly, but i really liked the one about waking Mary. Though Express Elevator to Hell was damn cool too. Anyway i’ll try to capture something more flashy next time. Both Blodia and Reptos have SNK-style combo supers starting with a dash attack, but there are lots of projectile supers in Cyberbots as well.

zafo999: Congratulations, you get to pick the featured character for the next SF4 TACV. Choose anyone you like except Guile, Ryu, Zangief, El Fuerte, Ken, Dhalsim, Rufus, and Viper. If you don’t have anyone specific in mind, the character i’ve been looking forward to the most is Rose. But i think Abel, Fei Long, and maybe Bison all have plenty of unexplored combo potential as well. Anyway please post your decision within 48 hours so i can get started as soon as possible.

Nice! I know this isn’t the most exciting choice but I’m gonna have to go with Cammy.

oooo whoes she going to be pared with them? I presume she is as she has no projectile.

Haha cool, at least jchensor will be happy. The only thing i’m concerned about is that Dj-B13 already released an extensive Cammy Exhibition so i don’t know how much more there is to do, but i’m down to give it a shot. She has a couple of interesting things for sure.

Looking forward to Cammy…one thing I’ve been trying is to have an opponent jump in the corner, and then have the last hit of cammys super hit them at the top of their jump, and then go into ultra before they land…but it never works for me. Maybe you can make it happen with your tools…;)

The thing is, i don’t know if i can get away with two-move combos in these videos. But if i can find a way to add an uppercut in the middle and a Focus Attack at the front, i’ll include it.

Maybe it was a mistake not including a two-move combo in every video starting from the first, when there were no expectations. Almost every character has something bizarre like that and personally i’ve always enjoyed combos of that nature.

Hmmm…..good point and something I didn’t consider. Perhaps a video of these types of combos could be something separate some day… ??
But, maybe you could have her absorb Akumas air. fireball, dash cancel out…..then have akuma jump again with another fireball, start her super…make the last hit right at the top of his jump, go to ultra??? I’ve tried all kinds of variations like this, but I never get it to connect…… but just maybe with the program tools you can do it??? Thanks for considering this idea, and I know this is still a 2 hitter, but just a little flashier..so maybe you could get away with it. ;)
