SFA3 A-Guy’s Alpha Counter startup after he blocks X-Cody’s F+MP, with Haggar and Axl ready to go. Except Axl is one of the enemy peons found in the first stage of Final Fight, so why isn’t Haggar beating him up? Letting it slide for old times’ sake, i guess.

    They redrew so many effects for this game. I wonder how many you can spot being ported over to other games. I know there are alot of CPS3 effects that got shared between games. Or at least a couple.

    the blue spiky little clash looks like the one gill (and only gill) has in sf3:3s, when he does a headbutt. ‘cept it changes colors all rainbow-like. i was wondering if it was just a leftover drawing they had, and it might be that one, but i’m too tired to compare right now.

    also maj…can we get these in high rez?

    Actually 384×224 is native resolution for all three CPS boards. Also these PNG screenshots are direct emulator output, so it’s optimal quality source material.

    Maybe there’s a way to stretch the picture within the emulator before taking screenshots, but that’s no better than stretching these images afterwards. If you want to turn one into desktop wallpaper, just use Photoshop. Use Bicubic Resampling to make it smooth or use Nearest Neighbor to keep it pixely, but in that case it’s probably best to multiply the width/height by an integer.

    You can even correct the aspect ratio to 4:3 using Bicubic Resampling. The games were meant to be played on 4:3 television monitors so everyone looks a little thick in these native resolution screenshots.
