CV Spotlight: Gen’s Ninja Masters Monster Pack

I’m still not quite sure what to make of this project, but it’s easily one of the most ambitious combo-related undertakings in recent memory. Trust me, it doesn’t matter if you’ve never heard of ADK’s Ninja Masters – nobody has. It’s still worth your time to check these out.

Ninja Masters CMV Vol 1 | Vol 2 | Vol 3 | Infinites CMV
Ninja Masters Ranmaru’s TAS | Nobunaga’s Special
Project Extra: Ragnagard CMV

I have no idea what could have possibly possessed Gen (aka Genas5) to pick out such an obscure game and devote so much time to exploring it inside out. However, what he ended up with has to be the definitive Ninja Masters combo benchmark.

That means if you’ve ever played the game, you’ll want to watch these videos. And if you decide to make a combovid for the game, you’ll have to watch these videos. I’d say that achievement deserves a mention – wouldn’t you?

By the way, the full version of the NM Kamui combo from style exhibition v.one can be found in CMV Vol 3 at 3:39. Gen also submitted the NM Raiga combo at 4:58, but that one didn’t fit the style theme quite as well. Both combos are completely awesome though.

Haha yeah, the internet meme hivemind isn’t too good at adapting. Once a formula is set in stone, everyone basically follows it to the letter. I guess when you’re trying to stay in front of a ghetto comedy wave, it’s more important to be fast than thorough.

At least that dude is alright, or at least that’s what it says in the original video description. I can never tell if these things are legitimate or if they’re just manufactured publicity stunts.

Had a friend in Maryland who was Fighter’s History Dynamite Champion at Evo in 2009. He’s also pretty sick at this game, also one of the best O Ken’s in the United States. Secret ST players. He picked the little ninja girl, Kasumi I think it was, because it was easy to take the gloves off if someone was playing with infinites. In his words “Her infinite is really easy.”

It’s a shame about the infinite combos in the game, because the game is relatively deep without the infinites. Also, that Infinite CMV reminded me how much of a sucker I am for bad trance selections. Staple combo video trope? You should do an article on picking BGM. I had a few ideas I’ve wanted to try, but I don’t have time these days to even entertain the idea. Would love to read about it, though.
