SSF4 Combo Challenge 02: Four of a Kind

It’s been a long time since the last challenge, and i’ve been getting a slew of requests for a new SSF4 combo puzzle, so here’s one that should keep everyone busy for a while.

All special moves in SSF4 have four different versions: light, medium, hard, and EX.

Challenge: Combo all four forms of any special move.

Rule #1: Start from 0 stun. (If you intend to dizzy the opponent, that is.)

Rule #2: Obey gauge limits. (Set S.C. Gauge to Refill but use only 4 stocks. If you plan on building enough meter to use 5 or more bars, set S.C. Gauge to Normal or Max Start so we can verify your method. Keep in mind that super meter charges slower during combos.)

Rule #3: Choose a special without an accepted solution. (Look through all existing responses to make sure that special move hasn’t already been addressed. Don’t worry, if two people independently submit the same move within hours of each other, i’ll accept both.)

Hard Mode: Do not dizzy the dummy character. (If any particular special move already has a dizzy-based response, i’ll still accept unique non-dizzy solutions.)

Credit goes to Pokey86 for suggesting the premise for this challenge.

Looking forward to the second wave of responses!

For rekkas, you have to do three different versions of a single rekka. I guess you could focus on the second rekka if you wanted, but using three different buttons for a single rekka chain doesn’t count as three.

Also, this was supposed to be an SSF4-only challenge, because strictly speaking SF4 and SSF4 are different games. I didn’t want to be the one to have to judge whether an SF4 combo would work in SSF4.

But i accepted a few SF4 responses without thinking about it, so i guess that’s out the window. SF4 responses are fair game now.

On the plus side, more people can participate this way. No sense in excluding people who don’t have Xbox360/PS3 consoles, right?

Haha technically those aren’t even the same move. Yeah, Gief’s not exactly built for this challenge. He’s only got one non-grab special move with an EX version and it’s not particularly combo-friendly.

If I do a combo with the Quesadilla Bomb, do I have to get all 4 charge levels, or is it sufficient to have ones with three individual buttons and the ex version?

Since there happen to be exactly four charge levels, in this case i’d accept either interpretation. So your choice.

It’s okay, it happens. There are still a lot of characters/moves that have slipped under the radar, but it seems everyone lost interest.

Like i was trying to convince someone that Dudley could (probably) do it with MGB without outright spoiling the solution, but he was convinced that he’d missed his chance with Jet Upper.
