Even though only one person was brave enough to formally respond to last month’s CPS1 trivia challenge, i think a lot of people had fun discussing various questions on SRK. With that in mind, i’ll give this whole quiz idea another chance in the near future before giving up on it.
As promised, here is the complete answer sheet. If you haven’t had an opportunity to look through the questions yet, now’s the time to go back and do it. Click the link above if you want to avoid spoilers, or continue reading for the solution key.
Still here? Okay, here we go.

Ryu is strong. (This question was a freebie. Everyone gets credit for answering.)
That’s all, folks. How’d you do?
not bad 20 out of fifty not counting any partial credit. Strange that I got most of the Hyper Fighting questions right even tho I’m pretty sure I’ve never played it.
I just thought it was a bit too long…
Also, some stuff was very game specific, so it would have required some additional research. With so many questions to answer, I just didn’t feel like it.
Here’s an easy one btw:
Which character is the only character in the entire SF2 series to make a sound during one of their normals and what move is it?
It’s pretty easy, but I realized this a short while ago and thought it was pretty interesting. In games nowadays all characters make grunting sounds during their normals, or they just talk non-stop like in BlazBlue, but back then there was one character in an entire game who did that for one specific move and somehow it just made sense.
It took me a moment, but like you said, the answer is very clear.
That one bit of sfx makes it the most serious standing fierce in the game.
Haha that’s dope. It took me a while to find it because i thought you were talking about the original SF2 cast, but you mean one of the SSF2 New Challengers right? It’s too bad you can’t hear it during combos since that voice sample gets cut when you cancel into a special.
Who is it about? You got me interesed but i cant play ssf2:(
Well i don’t want to ruin it for anyone, but you can find it in Tosaka‘s SF2 Combo Movie Vol.1 if you watch carefully. Happy hunting!
There is more than one besides fei’s which is chuns close s.hk Hya!
Whoa, really? Haha nice find. I guess they added it to her new SSF2 upkick. It’s crazy how far away you can do that move too. You can do s.MK and still be in range for close s.HK – it’s like the farthest “close” move ever. Of course it whiffs by a mile but they were probably trying to make it work better as anti-air since it has startup for years.
