CV Spotlight: tragic’s VF4:Evo Sarah Combo Film

This is going back a ways, to gamecombos.com days when i used to spend lots of time on IRC. Somehow tragic got into Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution and decided not only to make a Sarah Bryant combo video, but that it needed to be a masterpiece. After two continuous months of hard work, he ended up with this.

Sarah Bryant Evolution

I remember him spending something like two weeks on the intro logo alone. I’m sure some of you are looking at it now and saying you could replicate it within an hour, but this was seven years ago – before we had basically every program and preset you’re thinking of utilizing.

I’m not even sure how he managed to get all those individual combo hits to sync up with soundtrack beats, but the end result is simply astounding. I hate to focus so much on the editing, but it continues to impress me even after all this time. Of course the combo content is top-notch as well, but that’s hardly surprising considering the source.

Woah, just the music syncing must’ve taken at least two weeks to do, almost every combo is synced, but it really doesn’t appeal to me that much, since I have never played Virtua Fighter, so I don’t know what’s going on. Did trag make a transcript?

I don’t remember seeing one, but i’m not too sure to be honest. You’ll have to ask him. It was a long time ago though. I would’ve forgotten most of that stuff by now. That’s part of the reason i bother writing transcripts, even when i’m completely burnt out on a video and want nothing more than to move on.
